We're Sick!

So, it looks like we're sick for the first time since Cecilia's birth. Ben got it first, what seems like a summer cold. I've now started to develop the symptoms and Cecilia sounds a little flemmy and is snorting a little. Hopefully it passes by us quickly.

Grandpa Yount's Visit

Grandpa Yount came to visit Sunday and Monday. We really enjoyed having him, and we spent most of our time eating and visiting. Cecilia really loved meeting Grandpa, and behaved the best at a restaurant that she has ever behaved. We took a couple of pictures, although my photography ability is not the best. I have begun to wonder if it's because there is some residue inside the lends, though, not because I am really that bad at photography. It was a great couple of days, though, and we look forward to seeing Grandpa again soon!

Aunt Allison's Visit

Aunt Allison stayed for a few days after the baptism. We had a great time! It was so nice to have her around during the week, she was a tremendous help. Ben and I got a break while she changed diapers and took care of Cecilia. She also did laundry and dishes for us sometimes. It was also fun hanging out with her and chatting. It's been a while since we had some good, relaxing sister time, so this was very special. We can't thank her enough for all her help, and hope she comes back to visit often! Not because she helped us out, although we are forever grateful for it, but because we really enjoyed having her. Thanks Aunt Allison! We miss you!

Baptism

Cecilia was baptized today at the 8:00 am mass by Msgr. Ken Fiedler at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Madison, WI. She did so well, and there are videos and pictures on facebook. The link should be added on the side bar, too. Allison Yount and Nick Swoboda were her godparents, and we were so surprised and pleased that my Uncle John and Aunt Bernice came with their children, Jonny and Mariah, from Omaha. Oma Yount, Paw-paw and Na-naw Swoboda and Becky and Elliott Swoboda (and Ashley Swoboda, Nick's wife) were also there. She wore the christening gown Oma Yount made for the Yount babies to wear. It was beautiful!

Oma and Allison came Thursday night and stayed with us. Everyone else came Saturday and we had a cookout Saturday night. We celebrated a little for Oma and Nick's birthday's and Paw-paw and Na-naw's aniversary which all occurred the preceding week. After the baptism on Sunday morning we had a brunch at our apartment. It was a little crowded, but we made it work. We are so happy we had such a great weekend!

2 month doctor's visit

Cecilia had her 2 month doctor's visit today, and she was healthy as can be! She's off the charts in length and 75th percentile in weight. She's growing like a weed and is out of her 3-6 month sleepers already. She can still wear most 0-3 month dresses, though. She'll be a tall one!

Ashely and Nick's Wedding

We had a great weekend in Cape Girardeau for Ashley and Nick's wedding. It was a growing experience for me as a parent. Cecilia has begun to be a little more independent, spending some time in her swing, bouncy chair, or sleeping alone everyday. Granted, it's only an hour or less, but it's a step. This helped greatly during the trip, although there were almost always willing arms to hold her. She is also doing much better in the car and in her car seat. On the way home we only had to stopped once for food and gas. The weekend was long, but it was so much fun. The wedding was beautiful and the bride and groom glowed. Cecilia also got her first dance on the dance floor with her paw-paw, and a dance with the groom. The reception was a little loud for her, but she held up pretty well. Her dress was soooo cute! However, we changed her out of it before the dance with Stuart in the picture. We'll post some more pictures when we get them downloaded.

Ben's game

Ben played a softball game last night, and won (22 to 8)! He had two home runs. Unfortunately, Hannah and Celia were not there. He seems to do better when we are at home. They demolished the other team. Go Urban Achievers!

4th of July

Oma Yount came to visit for the 4th of July, bringing with her a very cute outfit and other gifts from Omaha. She sat up with Celia on Thursday night, a blessing for her very tired parents. Celia has been very fussy in the evenings, most nights awake and sometimes crying until 3 or 4 am. She's the most settled when she's held and rocked in the LazyBoy in the living room. It was so nice for Oma to stay up with her for a bit.

Friday, Oma went with Hannah to New Glarus and update the diaper stash. Celia has grown out of most of our diaper covers, so we got the next size up of the Thirsties. We're also trying to do reusable wipes, which has had mixed success thus far. Celia did very well during the drive and at the diaper shop, but she didn't do so well at dinner afterwards. It seems that she gets fussy around 4 or 5 each night. We ate in shifts and sped home. Friday night, Oma stayed with Celia while Ben and Hannah went to see "The Proposal." It was the first movie they'd seen since before Celia was born, and they enjoyed it very much. Later, we watched "Frost/Nixon" together on Pay-per-View.

For the 4th of July, everyone went to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings, and Celia wore the outfit Oma Yount got for her. She was adorable, and we took several pictures. Celia was a little fussy that day, so the rest of the day was spent relaxing together at home and tending Celia. We watched "He's Just not that Into You" on PPV, and had mixed feelings about it.

It was a fun weekend, and so good to see Oma!

Cecila sleeping with Daddy

I thought this was so cute, I just HAD to share it. When Celia sleeps next to her Daddy, she puts her face right in his armpit. It doesn't start that way, it is where she ends up.
